Journey of Life through Food

🌾 “Journey of Life through Food”

From the Food Spirit Modules Workshop, this process invited participants to reflect on the “river of life” through food—exploring four dimensions: emotion, health, relationships, and economy.

Though each participant came with unique stories, they were all connected through one powerful question:
🍚 “What new perspectives on life have we gained, and what do we wish to change—through the lens of food?”

In the sharing circles, we heard from:

🥣 Mai, Cheewin, and Fiat’s group, who spoke of the sorrow and challenge of accessing quality food. It takes money, time, and effort, even though healthy food should be a basic right. Living in the city often turns eating well into a struggle. Still, they keep trying to choose food that connects back to local communities.

🌿 See, Tuck, and Tu reflected on the origin of food and the importance of honoring every hand in the chain—from farmers to cooks to eaters. Food is a shared responsibility, a bridge between family, friends, and society. Even food waste becomes a mirror, showing us the unseen value that should not be lost.

🍳 Taew, Mae Cheng, and Nu described food as a space of happiness—from taste and cooking to the act of eating. It’s also a space of trust, where choosing good, traceable food can reduce costs and nurture health at the same time.

🌾 Bank shared his roots in local food. His family, being farmers, grew their own rice. With this close link to organic agriculture, he never had economic concerns. Joy emerged from the relationship with the land, the family, and hands-on living.

🌀 All these voices made it even clearer:
Food is more than survival.
It reflects our values, love, relationships, self-care, and care for others. It opens deeper layers—basic rights, respect for food origins, and the power of mindful choices.
